Built
originally as a hunting lodge in 1928, the building has
also been a real estate office, a hotel, a private home,
and most recently, as a bed & breakfast inn. The current
owners, Ron & Donna Mayer, purchased the lodge in
May of 2002, and immediately embarked on an ambitious
renovation project that improved the functionality and
appearance of the building, while preserving its historical
integrity.
The original owner, Tom Cannon, an executive with Signal
Oil Co. out of Long Beach, CA. imported German carpenters
and masons, who were known for their expertise and craftsmanship,
to build the lodge. Their talent and zest for detail is
evident throughout the house. Hand carved open beam ceilings
and mantles, huge stone fireplaces, and floor to ceiling
windows are just a few of the touches that await your
next visit to the beautiful Lodge at Lake Arrowhead.
